Just like mommy

Daddy hair

With mommy constantly nursing the little guy(or so it feels) daddy has to step up to Claire duty. Which usually means bath and dressing... And hair. Her hair is just at her eyes so we have to keep it back, and here are daddy's attempts. Hysterical

Now that daddy is home from work we are trying to spend a lot of time at the pool... Claire is very brave, jumping off the side, going under the water, blowing bubbles... If Pa had his way she would be on a swim team next summer!

Big sisser!

We are overjoyed with the love Claire has for her brother. He is smothered daily with kisses and hugs. They are going to be the best of friends.

The peaceful bedtime thief

I don't know who stole our peaceful bedtime routine, and what they plan to do with it, but I want it back!! Ever since we had to leave claire with a
Sitter at bedtime recently for a wedding, she has not been the same. Usually she is an angel with the routine every night... Bath, books, lullabies and bed. Now as soon as we turn to leave it is as if someone is pulling all of her hair out. Lord help me!! We might be getting molars, or fears of being alone in bed, or someone knows she is about to lose a percentage of her beloved momma... Today she fell asleep on the couch at Naptime and boy did I pay for it. She's lucky she's too cute for words.

ugh I am SO behind on my project 52... I have been snapping photos and thinking about putting this together on the blog but time is slipping away from me each day... I know it will only get worse in the next few weeks when we have TWO to care for...I apologize in advance. I am caught up now, but who knows when this will happen again. :)

C.L.A.I.R.E

We have been practicing writing and spelling our name, and she's got it down!

As you can see, she is used to practicing writing it with help from Mommy and Daddy, as she moves her hands around...

Here is our little fish in her ADORABLE gymboree suit. If you ask her what she is, she will tell you, "I'm a Fwamingo!

We have been spending a LOT of time at Ema and Pa's Pool... aka "Ema Pa Poo."

So much so that she has tan lines! This makes me nuts because we lather and lather her with lotion to protect her skin, yet after only 45 minutes of being outside she has a tan! 

That skin tone she got from the both of us... so it is our fault...

Claire is fearless...and we have initiated a new rule that she MUST wear floaties, aka, Ziggies when she is in the pool. She is jumping off the side of the pool all by herself now! I think she will be swimming by the end of Summer for sure. 

Fourth Festivities

We celebrated the 4th of July at the pool with all the cousins... 

It was the day after Liam and Lillie turned 3, so we also celebrated their birthdays, batman and princess style.

Of course we had patriotic outfits for them, thanks to Ema. So we tried a photo shoot, and it turned out to be much easier than it has in the past! 

You can just feel their love for each other... They are the best of friends.

After the festivities at Ema and Pa's pool, we went to Aunt Jessie and Uncle Shu's to watch fireworks from their front lawn, and what a view! They were huge, professional fireworks only a few hundred yards away.

Needless to say... they were a little loud for Miss Claire Jane. 

Last year she was a champ, and LOVED the fireworks. This year the poor girl was shaking and crying.

Once we took her to the car and shut all the doors, she loved every bit of them. She announced the colors that were bursting before her... Maybe next year she won't be so scared of the noise.

Right before the fireworks show, the lightning bugs came out!

Usually Claire sticks her nose up and says "EW BUG!" but not with these guys.

Daddy and Uncle Shu showed her how to catch them with 2 hands, and by the end of the night she was chasing them and catching them all by herself!

We are looking forward to many nights outside under the stars catching lightning bugs!

Daddy: Is She? What about Uncle Shu?

Daddy: Is he having one too?

Claire: A baby!

Claire so excited to have a new cousin this winter!!!

Allergies

My little trooper... We ended up in the ER at 1:30am Thursday night for wheezing and trouble breathing. Claire has been coughing at night and nap time for about a month now and the doc is chalking it up to an allergy. We were hesitant to give allergy medicine but want to rule out any seasonal allergies. We also took away all dairy :( to see if that is the culprit. Poor thing loves milk and cheese... I hope we find out what is causing all of this soon cause the entire Busbey family is suffering from night coughing an wheezing...
